R&D

The global trend over the last 10 years shows us that countries in the European Union (EU) and the United States continue to increase their specialisation and investment in sectors with a high level of R&D.

While in developed countries R&D investment reaches 2.5% of GDP on average (OECD), in Chile this value only reaches 0.38%. For this reason, the Chilean State, with the new Research and Development Law, expects that more and more companies in our country will use this tax incentive for investment in R&D, which will allow them to reduce up to 35% of the resources they allocate to this activities, carried out with their own capacities or subcontracted to third parties (specialized centers).

It is in this context that our company QUEMPIN® appears, a spin-off that was born under the auspices of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, and that seeks to transfer the knowledge acquired from the research of an outstanding group of academics, supporters, students, graduates and professionals, to different productive sectors of the country, that put energy efficiency and its different tools at the service of the quality of life of workers, consumers and real substantial savings in the production of their company or entrepreneurship.
